Notre Dame had lost four straight on the road, but  on Monday they dropped their record down to 8-10-1 to make it five. They fell just short of the Arroyo Valley Hawks by a score of  9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  defeat the Titans have suffered  since April 25, 2024.
 Mikey Rodriguez put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched six innings while giving up just two earned  (and seven unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Rodriguez was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  runs and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Teresa Avila was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with four  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run.  Shea McCann was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
As for Arroyo Valley, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-8-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Notre Dame, Rim of the World, and Notre Dame.
On Arroyo Valley's side,  Mariana Barlow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. Barlow has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in seven consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Leilanny Limon was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run. That  triple marked the first that  she has  hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jaylin Casillas, who  went 2-for-4 with two  runs.
 Notre Dame wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  13-6  win against Rim of the World on the 30th. As for Arroyo Valley, they have also already played their next game,  a  16-9  victory against Fontana on the 30th.
