The Crestview Rebels waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 52-38 victory over Champion. That looming 52-38 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Crestview yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crestview to victory, but perhaps none more so than justin mckee, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Mckee continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Savage, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Jake Andreatta and Marky Nolan certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Andreatta scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals, while Nolan scored 17 points.
Crestview's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Champion, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crestview will face off against the G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Garfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. As for Champion, they will head out on the road to face off against the Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5.
