She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Smart was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and two RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ursuline Academy let Maura Cunniffe and Celia Mitchell run wild. Cunniffe went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Mitchell went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Cunniffe a new career-high. Abigail Kirk was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double.
