The Millersport Lakers will venture away from home to square off against the Berne Union Rockets at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Millersport knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Berne Union likes a good challenge.
Last Wednesday, Millersport got the win against Bishop Rosecrans by a conclusive 14-3. The Lakers haven't had any issues with the Bishops recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Kendyl Bonkowski made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

Millersport's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Lakers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Berne Union, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Millersport continue to outrun the ball?
Millersport came out on top in a nail-biter against Berne Union in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Lakers repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
