Columbia (Miss.) grabbed the lead when
Edward Forbes ran for a two-point conversion with 11:00 remaining in the fifth quarter and held on to defeat
Magee (Miss.) 32-31 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured seven lead swaps.
After trailing 12-9 at the half, the Trojans went ahead on a
Marquez McNair touchdown run with 10:00 remaining in the third.
Columbia saw its 3-point halftime lead fall to two entering the fourth.
Steven McNair played well for Magee. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.
Forbes was the top performer for CHS. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Wildcats, which lost to Tylertown last week, 34-0.
