The Calexico Mission RoadRunners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 43-42 to West Shores. Calexico Mission was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 4th.
Several RoadRunners players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leonardo Longino, who scored 20 points. That was a full 47.6% of Calexico Mission's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leonardo Li, who scored 12 points.
Calexico Mission's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8. As for West Shores, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-18.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calexico Mission will take on the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Shores, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
