The Clearview Clippers will square off against the Firelands Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Clearview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Clearview took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Medina Christian Academy as they made off with a 14-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Clippers considering their one-run performance the match before.

Alivia Ocasio was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.
In other batting news, Janessa Pagan was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Amor' Ruiz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Clearview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Firelands came up short against Norwalk last Friday and fell 7-4.
Jeanette Crawford made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aubrynn Reichle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Firelands' defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Clearview, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clearview has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Firelands struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clearview suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Firelands in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Clippers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
