Having just played yesterday, the Wakulla Christian School Saints will head out on the road to face off against the Wewahitchka Gators at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 11 consecutive losses apiece.
On Thursday, things could have been worse for Wakulla Christian School, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-51 loss to Aucilla Christian.
Despite the defeat, Wakulla Christian School had strong showings from Langston Stephens, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Hunter Bourgeois, who scored 14 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stephens has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Freddy McClendon, who scored two points along with three steals.
Wewahitchka suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Port St. Joe 65-33. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Wewahitchka has suffered against Port St. Joe since December 5, 2019.
Wakulla Christian School's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-10. As for Wewahitchka, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.
Wakulla Christian School was able to grind out a solid win over Wewahitchka when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 68-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wakulla Christian School since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
