Monroeville gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the McComb Panthers with a sharp 46-20 win. The score was all tied up 13-13 at the break, but the Eagles were the (much) better team in the second half.
Leading Monroeville to victory were Colton Clark and Connor Bores. Clark rushed for 200 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, while Bores rushed for 189 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. Clark's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards.
