They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Maxwell Wildcats. On the bright side, the six- run effort marked the Huskies' highest-scoring contest to date.
Jack Spiehs put in work no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Dylan Ronnau made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Dane Comer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
