The Britton Deerfield Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Washtenaw Christian Academy Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Washtenaw Christian Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Britton Deerfield, who comes in off a win.
Britton Deerfield can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They blew past Waldron 55-23 on the road. Given Britton Deerfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while Waldron is ranked 573rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Britton Deerfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Shiels, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Shiels also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Ryan Good was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Washtenaw Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-63 to Livingston Christian.
The win makes it two in a row for Britton Deerfield and bumps their season record up to 14-5. As for Washtenaw Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.
Britton Deerfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Washtenaw Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 58-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Britton Deerfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
