The Harvard Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Shelton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Harvard has struggled recently with 39 losses in a row, while Shelton will arrive with five straight victories.
Last Tuesday, Harvard came up short against Lawrence-Nelson and fell 45-35. Harvard has not had much luck with Lawrence-Nelson recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Tabi Forney, who scored 13 points along with seven steals. Forney is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Taylor Braun was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Shelton put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Silver Lake 55-32.
Harvard dropped their record down to 0-18 with that loss, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.6 points per game. As for Shelton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Harvard was dealt a bruising 90-12 loss at the hands of Shelton in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Harvard was down 55-4.
