The Graham Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell to Jordan-Matthews 74-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (61), Graham still had to take the loss.
Graham's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Micah Woods, who scored 26 points, and Jaylan Sinclair who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sinclair has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadrian Brown, who scored ten points.
Brennen Oldham was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with nine rebounds and five assists for Jordan-Matthews. That makes it three consecutive games in which Oldham has scored at least a third of Jordan-Matthews' points. Another player making a difference was Kelton Fuquay, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Graham dropped their record down to 1-16 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Jordan-Matthews, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Graham will take on Cummings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jordan-Matthews, they will head out on the road to challenge Northwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jordan-Matthews in North Carolina (Northwood is ranked 56th, while Jordan-Matthews is ranked 399th).
