The Malcolm Clippers will take on the Centennial Broncos at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Malcolm has 15 straight wins, Centennial has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Malcolm's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Arlington as they made off with a 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Clippers, who have now won 11 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Brixon Meyer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Mcgreer, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Mason Wisnieski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Malcolm was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arlington only posted a batting average of .095.
Adams Central hit Centennial with a six-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Broncos came up short against the Patriots, falling 11-1.
Centennial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Slawnyk, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Lane Johnson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Malcolm pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
Centennial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Malcolm hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. It's a different story for Centennial, though, as they've only averaged .171. Will they be able to contain Malcolm's hitters?
Everything went Malcolm's way against Centennial when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Malcolm made off with a 19-1 win. Will the Clippers repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
