The Blake Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to face off against the Chamberlain Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
After a string of five wins, Blake's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their rough 38-17 defeat to Tampa Catholic might stick with them for a while.
The losing side was boosted by Deshawn Neal, who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Neal was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Chamberlain, who are still winless after their seventh match. They took a hard 15-0 fall against King on Friday.
Blake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Chamberlain, their loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-7.
Blake beat Chamberlain 21-8 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Chamberlain's Roman Hearns, who rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Blake to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
