BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -
Tioga (Tioga Center, N.Y.) took an early lead against
Seton Catholic Central (Binghamton, N.Y.) and held on for a 44-22 victory on Saturday.
The Tigers put up 15 points in the opening quarter. Tioga scored on a
Jesse Manuel touchdown run and a
Ryan Vergason touchdown pass to
Josh Kithcart.
After taking the lead on a two-point conversion in the first quarter, THS led 23-14 at the half.
The Tioga Center school grew its lead to 23 points entering the fourth quarter. The Tigers scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Vergason to Manuel.
Tioga also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 22-6.
The loss was the third in a row for the Saints. The win brought Tioga's winning streak to four games.
Seton Catholic Central (1-3) goes up against Sidney in a Section 4 D Division VI game matchup next week, while Tioga (4-0) locks horns with Oxford Academy also in a Section 4 D Division VI game.
