The Cocoa Tigers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were dealt a 69-35 loss at the hands of Rockledge. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cocoa in their matchups with Rockledge: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Cocoa still got an impressive performance from Kamari Haynes, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Haynes posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Travon Graves, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
It was another big night for Ryan Blount, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds for Rockledge. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Kearns, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Cocoa's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-7. As for Rockledge, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
Cocoa will face off against Cocoa Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cocoa Beach is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Rockledge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Edgewood at 5:30 p.m. Edgewood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 705th, while Rockledge is ranked 45th).
