The Southside Tigers lost against the Greenville Red Raiders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Southside suffered a tough 75-52 loss at the hands of Greenville. Southside has not had much luck with Greenville recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Southside's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Johnson, who scored 13 points. The match was Johnson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Travis Ricks, who scored nine points.
Southside's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Greenville, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Southside will head out on the road to face off against Berea at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Berea knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Southside likes a good challenge. Greenville will be home for the holidays to greet J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. J.L. Mann is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
