Basketball Game Preview: Cooper Bulldogs vs. North Hopkins Panthers

Cooper is 10-0 against North Hopkins since November of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Cooper Bulldogs will host the North Hopkins Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Cooper will be strutting in after a win while North Hopkins will be coming in after a loss.

Cooper is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 90-11 victory over Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 54-8.

Cooper found their leader in sophomore Kelci Sonntag, who posted 19 points. The dominant performance gave Sonntag a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marilynn Wilkerson, who put up 14 points.

Meanwhile, North Hopkins lost to Boles at home by a 67-52 margin on Tuesday. The Panthers were down 55-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

North Hopkins' defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Cooper, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-10.

Everything came up roses for Cooper against North Hopkins in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 56-18 victory. In that match, Cooper amassed a halftime lead of 24-4, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
