Green Hope is 8-2 against Cary since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Green Hope Falcons on the road again and play against the Cary Imps at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Green Hope focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Green Hope ultimately got the result they hoped for. They came out on top against Apex by a score of 71-64. Green Hope's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Mason Dean had an outrageously good game as he scored 38 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Justin Jackson, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Cary's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Apex Friendship on the road by a decisive 59-41 margin. While losing is never fun, Cary can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while Apex Friendship is ranked 118th).
Green Hope's win ended a 12-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12. As for Cary, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Green Hope came out on top in a nail-biter against Cary when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 62-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Green Hope since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
