On Saturday, Roxborough was able to grind out a solid victory over the Cavaliers, taking the game 53-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Roxborough.
Roxborough's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stefan Phillips, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Phillips posted two or more blocks. Josh Jones was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Girard College lost, one person who can't be blamed is Antoine Seals. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Brasen Avent, who scored eight points.
Roxborough has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Girard College, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
Roxborough will be playing at home against the Sabres at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Sayre's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. Girard College does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
