Odyssey Institute is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Tonopah Valley get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.
Odyssey Institute secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Nick DePaz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gilbert Christian). They were the clear victors by a 34-0 margin over ALA - Ironwood on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.
Brody Aubut made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Sam Webb and Camden Pallas did most of the damage at the plate: Webb got on base in all six of his plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and four RBI, while Pallas got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Gilbert Christian is 12-1 when Webb posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dane Coyle, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs.
Gilbert Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as ALA - Ironwood didn't launched any home runs.
Odyssey Institute's record now sits at 9-11-1. As for Gilbert Christian, their record is now 17-8.
Odyssey Institute came up short against Gilbert Christian when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 11-6. Can the Minotaur avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
