Marlow has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will take on the Chickasha Fighting Chicks at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Marlow focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Marlow pushed their score all the way to 56, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bridge Creek. While losing is never fun, Marlow can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Bridge Creek is ranked second).
Marlow's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Parker Boyles, who scored 21 points along with three steals, and Kaden Harris who scored 19 points along with three steals. The game was Boyles' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Blayd Harris, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Chickasha had to suffer through a rough 77-40 loss at the hands of Bethany. Chickasha has struggled against Bethany recently, as their match on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Marlow's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-1. As for Chickasha, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Marlow ended up a good deal behind Chickasha when the teams last played back in February of 2019, losing 50-35. Can Marlow avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
