Heartland II recap November 5, 2013
Mount Carmel added to the longest winning streak in Heartland II this week by beating Shamokin Area, 21-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the RED TORNADOES.
Mount Carmel took down the Indians 21-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zach Wasilewski threw for 137 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 35 yards in the win.
Hughesville's dynamic duo of Logan Henry and Clint Snyder proved tough for Muncy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Henry threw for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns and Snyder had 79 yards receiving. Nick Yeager helped Hughesville's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 17 yards.
Wasilewski provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Carmen DeFrancesco's team topped Shamokin Area. Wasilewski's key target this week was Treyvon White, who caught 3 passes for 52 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the RED TORNADOES's Wasilewski and White have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Wasilewski has thrown for 1,376 yards this season, while White has 40 catches for 596 yards. Montoursville's Cameron Ott leads the league in rushing yards with 1,337.
Loyalsock Township. made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,919 from 4,462. The improvement was the result of a 14-10 victory over the Warriors last week.
