On Friday West Montgomery take on South Stanly at 7:30 PM. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded after having run the length of the field multiple times (South Stanly picked up 403 yards, West Montgomery 707.1).
Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise West Montgomery and Chatham Central were playing football. West Montgomery were the clear victor by a 82-48 margin over Chatham Central. No one put up better numbers for West Montgomery than senior Payton Coble, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 364 yards and 6 touchdowns. In fact, with nine tackles Coble was a force on both sides of the ball.
Last Friday, South Stanly put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They made easy work of North Moore and carried off a 33-0 win. With South Stanly ahead 20-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
West Montgomery took the game and then some with a 56-7 victory the last time the two teams met over South Stanly. Will West Montgomery repeat their success, or does South Stanly have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
