Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 50-36 to Liberty Christian Prep. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Luke Watts went supernova for Liberty Christian Prep, rushing for 242 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for 75 yards and a touchdown. Noah Frerking was in the mix as well, providing Liberty Christian Prep with two touchdowns.
Foundation Christian Academy's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-2 Donahue Catholic and 9-2 Four Corners (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.2% over those games). As for Liberty Christian Prep, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.
Foundation Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Liberty Christian Prep will face off against Geneva Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Geneva Classical Academy is ranked 23rd, while Liberty Christian Prep is ranked 24th).
