After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, the Providence Catholic Provets brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They strolled past Holy Cross with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-43. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Providence Catholic also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2020.
Kalysta Martin had an outrageously good game as she shot 5-for-14 from long range and dropped a double-double on 42 points and 24 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Providence Catholic's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimberly Juarez, who scored 4 points along with 7 steals.
Providence Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Holy Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Providence Catholic will head out on the road to face off against TMI-Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. TMI-Episcopal comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Holy Cross will be staying on the road on December 8th to face off against San Juan Diego Catholic.
