Mt. Vernon had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 4-12 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Westfield Shamrocks. This was payback for the Marauders, who suffered a 10-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Graci Hines was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk).
