The Cass City Red Hawks put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Vassar 59-43. 59 seems to be a good number for Cass City as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
When it comes to explaining why Vassar lost, one person who can't be blamed is Austin Long. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with three steals. Madix Gorleski was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Cass City pushed their record up to 14-0 with that win, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Vassar, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cass City will take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Caro will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Red Hawks are ranked 83rd). As for Vassar, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
