The West Forsyth Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Davie 53-47. West Forsyth was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Davie apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexis Waters, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Waters scored 15 or more points. Campbell McClain was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Leading Davie to victory were Avarie Martin and Malayka Rankin. Martin scored 15 points, while Rankin scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmie Burris, who scored six points along with two steals.
West Forsyth's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Davie, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Forsyth will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Parkland at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Parkland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday. As for Davie, they will head out on the road to face off against East Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
