It was another big night for Marti Mcknight, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Rocky Mount Academy also got a significant boost from Jordan Wright, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.
John Paul II Catholic's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Keiveon Moore , who rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown, and Latavius Moore who picked up 40 receiving yards and a touchdown. Moore was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.
Rocky Mount Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for John Paul II Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Rocky Mount Academy will square off against Halifax Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Halifax Academy's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matches. John Paul II Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
