Southern Lehigh won against Palisades last Thursday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Spartans came out on top against the Lehighton Indians by a score of 6-3. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Delaney Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Young was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lily Kelly was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Brooke Davies was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Southern Lehigh's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Lehighton, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Coming up, Southern Lehigh will welcome Northern Lehigh at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
