After a string of six wins, the Cooper Dragons's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 63-43 loss at the hands of St. John. While losing is never fun, Cooper can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while St. John's is ranked 80th).
Sebastian Williams-adams was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for St. John's. Williams-adams has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. Colin Callahan was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Cooper's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-12. As for St. John's, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.
Cooper will be playing in front of their home fans against Houston Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Houston Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 17 contests. As for St. John's, they will head out on the road to take on The Awty International at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
