Orange has gone 9-1 against Cedar Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Orange Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Orange's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They didn't even let Williams on the board, marking Orange's second-straight 15-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.
The team relied heavily on Kylee Allen, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Molly Kate Ollis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Orange hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge hadn't done well against Southern Alamance recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Cedar Ridge was the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over Southern Alamance. Considering the Fighting Red Wolves have won four matchups by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Charlotte Lowry made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Rylee Capps was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Raegan Remaly, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Orange's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Cedar Ridge, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Orange was able to grind out a solid victory over Cedar Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 3-0. Does Orange have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cedar Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
