This season hasn't been kind to The Stewart County Rebels, who are still winless after their ninth matchup. They were dealt a 56-7 loss at the hands of Cheatham County Central on Friday. Stewart County lost against Cheatham County Central in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 29-9 score last time.
Cheatham County Central can attribute much of their success to Patrick Kelly, who threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Cheatham County Central also got help from Devin Sutton who showed off his sure hands for 100 receiving yards.
Stewart County's loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 2-10 White House-Heritage and 2-10 White House-Heritage (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35.9% over those games). As for Cheatham County Central, their victory bumped their record up to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stewart County will take on Sycamore at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cheatham County Central, they will be playing at home against Lawrence County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence County is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
