After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Toombs County, the Twiggs County Cobras were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-37 victory over Georgia Military College. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Twiggs County has managed all season.
It was another big night for Tykerrion Williams, who scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Twiggs County's points. Another player making a difference was Armarion Downing, who scored 11 points.
Josh Walker and Logan Mcmillan certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Walker scored 13 points, while Mcmillan scored 12 points.
Twiggs County's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Georgia Military College, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twiggs County will take on Glascock County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Glascock County comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Georgia Military College, they will play host again and welcome Hancock Central, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hancock Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Georgia Military College likes a good challenge.
