Shelby dropped their record down to 6-3 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Western Michigan Christian Warriors. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

As for Western Michigan Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Western Michigan Christian's part, the team relied heavily on Nathan Clausing, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Quint Menefee was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Shelby will head out to square off against Holton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.14 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
