This season hasn't been kind to the Cedar Reds, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a 64-50 bruising from Logan on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cedar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Logan is ranked 17th).
Despite the loss, Cedar still got an impressive performance from Easton Albrecht, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for Albrecht. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Kreitzer, who scored nine points.
Even though they lost, Cedar were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Cedar's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points per game. As for Logan, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Cedar won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sky View at 12:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Sky View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. Logan and Westlake will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
