The Ramona Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 61-53 to Del Norte. While losing is never fun, Ramona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 688th, while Del Norte is ranked 281st).
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Newman, who scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colin Dillon, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Ramona has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Del Norte, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10.
Ramona will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Rancho Bernardo at 7:00 p.m. Rancho Bernardo is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Del Norte, they will head out on the road to square off against Mission Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mission Hills is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games.
