Dawson County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Laurel Locomotives 46-6 on Friday. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  40-6.
 Laurel had a senior duo take command as  Curtis Fox rushed for 123 yards and three  scores on only 14 carries and  Krew Hunter threw for 221 yards and a pair of  touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes. Fox's rushing production has been exceptional  recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 123  rushing yards dating back to last season.  Bridger Burrows was another key player, picking up 99 receiving yards and one  TD.
 Coming up, Dawson County will face off against Park at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Laurel, they will square off against Sidney at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
