The Cherryville Ironmen won the last time they faced the Chase Trojans, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Cherryville was the clear victor by a 66-46 margin over Chase. Given Cherryville's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 229th, while Chase is ranked 470th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cherryville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andron Patterson, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. The match was Patterson's third in a row with at least ten points. Darrien Floyd was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 6 assists and 5 steals.
Cherryville's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Chase, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cherryville won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Foard at 7:30 p.m. on December 6th. Hopefully Foard focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for Chase, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chesnee at 7:30 p.m.
