Steele extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-2. They skirted past the Cypress Springs Panthers 6-4. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2025.
Isaac Torres made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Torres was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Nolan Gomez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Andrew Tschoepe, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Steele hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive contests.
As for Cypress Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 28, 2025.
On Cypress Springs' side, Abbas Razvi made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Villarreal, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Steele will challenge Willis at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cypress Springs, they will take on Southwest at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.8, the Dragons 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
