Northland Christian (Houston, Texas) grabbed the lead when
Carter Odenweller ran for a touchdown with 7:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to beat
San Antonio Christian (San Antonio, Texas) 43-36 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured three lead swaps.
The score was knotted at 22 heading into the half. The Cougars took the lead for good on a touchdown run by Odenweller in the fourth quarter.
Walker Whitehorn played well for Northland Christian in the victory. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 15 touchdowns on the season.
Turner Goudge played well for the Lions. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns, ran for one touchdown and kicked four extra points.
San Antonio Christian came in surrendering 17.2 points per game this season. SAC struggled against NC, which came in averaging 48.7 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Houston school came away with a 21-7 victory.
The loss comes after San Antonio Christian defeated Westbury Christian 49-36 last week.
