On Saturday, the Quinton Savages faced the Lincoln Christian Bulldogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Quinton took a serious blow against the Bulldogs, falling 61-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Quinton has scored all season.
Lincoln Christian found their leader in underclassman Maddi Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. Stewart is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayli Atkinson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Quinton and nudges their season record down to 19-2. As for Lincoln Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.
Quinton will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. McCurtain will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Savages are ranked 21st). As for Lincoln Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge the Conquerors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
