The Scotlandville Hornets were the 75-43 winner over the McKinley Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Scotlandville was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 48-47 to McKinley.
When it comes to explaining why Scotlandville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jamal Drewery. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points. The game was Drewery's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ja'marriyon Brown, who scored 9 points along with 11 rebounds.
Scotlandville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for McKinley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotlandville will take on Eleanor McMain at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKinley, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Capitol at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th.
