The Erie Tigers extended their postseason success on Saturday against the Montrose Red Hawks. They skirted past the Red Hawks 25-22. The victory was familiar territory for Erie who now have 12 in a row.
Blake Barnett was his usual excellent self, throwing for 183 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Lusk, who gained 117 total yards and a touchdown.
Erie has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 12-1 record. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.64 points. As for Montrose, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Erie will face off against Palmer Ridge at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Palmer Ridge is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Montrose does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
