D1 District 10 (8 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012
Hemingford's Ethan Skinner rumbled for the longest rushing play in D1 District 10 (8 Man) this season in his game against Sutherland last week. Skinner ran for 57 yards on the play and finished with 114 on the day as his team bested the Sailors.
Paxton extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Maxwell, 54-18. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Tigers.
Hemingford's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matthew Wood threw for 113 and three touchdowns and Colt Foster had 65 yards receiving. Brady Turek helped Hemingford's passing attack out by catching two balls for 20 yards.
Kyle Kumpf made the biggest impact on defense this week as Jordan Haas's team beat Sutherland. The senior recorded one fumble.
Hemingford's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bobcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wood has thrown for 446 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Foster has eight catches for 233 yards. Skinner leads the league in rushing with 318 yards.
A big matchup in D1 District 10 (8 Man) this week will be when Stapleton/McPherson County takes on the Bobcats. The Cyclones are currently in third, while Hemingford is in second.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Stapleton/McPherson County takes on the Bobcats. Bill Cranston's team has allowed 66 points this season, while Hemingford has given up 16. The Cyclones allowed 18 points last week as they topped Morrill.
The Bobcats led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on Joe Kaup's team. Wood ran for 24 yards in the win.
