Penns Grove is 1-6 against the Rams since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Penns Grove Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Overbrook Rams at 5:30 p.m. Penns Grove is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Penns Grove beat the Wolverines 47-42. The victory was just what Penns Grove needed coming off of a 96-52 defeat in their prior game.
Penns Grove's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Giomar Conrad, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Ballard, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Overbrook was able to grind out a solid victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday, taking the game 58-51. The win made it back-to-back wins for Overbrook.
Penns Grove's record now sits at 6-11. As for Overbrook, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Penns Grove skirted past the Rams 51-48 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Penns Grove since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
