The Seminole Ridge Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 15th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Palm Beach Central, falling 69-29. Seminole Ridge was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-8.
Despite the loss, Seminole Ridge still got an impressive performance from Brandon Burke, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burke has scored all season. Jonah Pio was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Seminole Ridge dropped their record down to 3-20 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Palm Beach Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seminole Ridge will take on the Barracudas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Smyrna Beach presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Hawks in Florida (the Barracudas are ranked 212th, while the Hawks are ranked 683rd). As for Palm Beach Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
