The Hononegah Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Willowbrook Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Hononegah sitting on ten straight wins and Willowbrook on six.
Hononegah stacked a ninth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Rockford Auburn, posting a 56-12 win at home. Given Hononegah's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Rockford Auburn is ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hononegah had a senior duo take command as Cole Warren threw for 146 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes and Isaiah Houi gained 106 total yards and four touchdowns. Warren was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Another player making a difference was Greyson Motter, who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Willowbrook beat Yorkville 21-13 on Friday.
Hononegah's win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.5 points per game. As for Willowbrook, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
